If I were to speak of my personal style when it comes to Indian clothes, one of my favorite go to looks is mixing traditional Indian wear with contemporary western styles. Which is why Tarun Tahiliani is always a store I visit without fail. He has changed the way women drape saree’s in India. While his inspirations are questionable (sorry but sometimes it is a bit uninspired…) you cannot deny he believes in simplicity and feminine silhouettes. While his clothes can sometimes seem overpriced, I think his accessories are a great buy. He has jeweled belts, and brooches which can be used in sarees, and lengha’s. There are other brands who offer accessories as well, but the price range is pretty much the same. You can always take his belts, and brooches and style it with your own sarees, and feel like you came off a runway!

I am going to try to show you how I wear my accessories from Tarun in future post! Tarun has gorgeous clothes but the price points are expensive. If they are out of your budget, the accessories according to me are a great investment that can reused over and over again with different outfits. They really make your sarees stand out!
That’s so true, if you can’t buy a Tarun Tahiliani outfit, you can always go for an accessory because the style is usually timeless. I’ve seen that with many ladies, I know someone who picked up a clutch and one of those digi print Mughal motif t-shirts from his line like ages ago and it doesn’t seem out of place even today. I’d love a Tarun saree if it wasn’t so friggin expensive; like spending on a lightly embellished georgette drape doesn’t seem worth it to me.
I’ve seen women go mad over discounted items in the back of his store in Colaba like it was going out of fashion! I can only attribute that to his elegant touch which has many takers, though rather uninspiring as you rightly put it.
