Genelia D'Souza in Manish Malhotra

When I saw this lengha on Genelia D’Souza at her sangeet, I knew who the designer was right away, no fashion site had to tell me it was Manish Malhotra.  Just the week before Karishma Kapoor was scene in his saree that looked similar to this lengha:

While the saree and lengha looked like they were from the same designer, one of Genelia’s guests wore something really similar to Genelia from Manish Malhotra:

To be honest I doubt Natasha Poonawala did it on purpose, however I know if I was Genelia, I would be pissed!!  All brides want to stand out on their day, but to be honest this actually is not an unusual thing to happen at Indian weddings.  Some women attend their relatives weddings in their own wedding outfit (yup in India a wedding dress can be worn again!).  If a bride chooses to be subtly dressed, there is a chance that a guest can outshine you!!!!!!!!  It definitely becomes hard for Indian brides to look glamorous, most of them end up looking like over decorated Christmas trees!

Here is someone who stood out, but did not take away from the bride at the reception:

Kangana Ranaut in Sabyasachi

Kangana definitely wore a memorable outfit and was loved by most, however she picked colors that she probably knew the bride would not touch!  Good for her!

What do you guys think?  Do some brides get out shined at their own weddings?
