I love finding places where you find little treats that are different and satisfying.  Recently I had read about a cupcake place with liquor in them.  When I had checked out their menu I had to try the cupcakes.  I will say I was not disappointed.  If you live in New York go check out Prohibition Bakery!

A night out after Sandy with heels on (can not be seen) and good friends after Sandy was just what I need.  I am still catching up so please be patient with the posts!

As you can see I am not my usual self, my skin and hair have just never looked or felt worse.  Hopefully that will not be true for long.  I had a great dinner with friends at Catch where the cocktails, sushi, and dessert were delicious.

It is AUGUST, which is crazy, seriously where did the summer go?  When planning outfits these days I am so into getting all my summer styles in, because I only have so many days!  I actually ended up wearing 3 summer styles from this summer to a dinner out!  I would not normally do this but summer is fleeting in NY!

I wore a lot of summer 2012′s trends which I would normally not do.  I also would not have such a trendy restaurant on my list to visit, but to be honest it really was a pleasant experience!

The cocktails were delicious (obviously you should be 21 or over)

I am also going to do a disclaimer, those are not my real lips, and no I did not put anything on them, I actually had an allergic reaction which spread to my eyes, and throat later in the weekend.  I actually am suffering as I write this.

I am glad I wore that dress out which I absolutely LOVE!  I love the cut and the color!  It was a coral neon pink!

Since I haven’t done a EAT in ages! Here is one!

I am not a vegetarian but I do have days that I am a vegetarian (this is actually quite normal with a lot of other Hindus I know) and going out to restaurant can be  quite limiting in choices.  Sometimes you want something new and something exciting!  While most restaurants have vegetarian options, they never have variety.  The worst is when you have a that meal consists of sides!

When I found a place that catered to non vegetarians and to vegetarians equally with flavor I had to share!

This place is called FAMILY RECIPE, and what makes it stand out is that it has as many options for vegetarians as for non vegetarians.  If you are VEGAN you also will be happy here!  The food was innovative and flavorful so if you are in New York or planning to visit put it on your list to try!  While the restaurant is not perfect, it is satisfying.  I would actually recommend NOT visiting on hot days, since the restaurant is very small and the air conditioning is not the best!

I strongly recommend the kale salad, fried chicken (my friends told me it was delicious), and the gobo and miso egg plant buns!

I would love to hear from others on vegetarian friendly restaurants!  Obviously I know India has a dime a dozen!

One of the things I miss most about New York is the easy availability of good fresh sushi.  Fresh fish is not easily available and in certain months it is best to be avoided.  I thought for the sushi lovers I would let you guys know of places to find good fresh sushi:

1.  Umami:  Umami is a multi-cuisine restaurant in New Delhi, but has yummy sushi!  The location is not ideal if you are in central Delhi since this restaurant is in Gurgaon.

2.  Shiro:  I actually liked the veg sushi (never actually have veg sushi otherwise).  You can make a night out at this restaurant since this place turns into a club later

3.  Kylin:  The sushi is just ok, but the rest of the menu is pretty decent if you want Pan Asian cuisine.

While I hear Wasabi has the best, I have yet to try it, but if I do I definitely will let you know!

Mumbai and the Two C’s

Last week I was in Mumbai and I thought I would share what I liked best:

1.  CRABS! If you like seafood you have to come to Mumbai and try the butter garlic crabs!  These have to be the best crabs I have had till date!

Try these restaurants for great seafood:Trishna, Mahesh Lunch Home, and Gajalee.

Another C I would tell you guys to check out is COLABA!  Colaba is a lovely place to visit in Mumbai.  If you like to shop this is definitely a place to check out!

My recommendations for Colaba:  Curio Cottage, Bombay Electric, and Bungalow 8.

While I would not suggest buying ethnic wear in Mumbai, I would suggest buying accessories!  Colaba is a great place to buy some great accessories!  Curio Cottage has a wide array of accessories at relatively affordable prices.  Bombay Electric is a store to check out just for the decor, and Bungalow 8 has some great inventory to check out where quality is high!

My trip to Mumbai was short and sweet, it had more of a family emphasis but of course Mumbai is Mumbai.  I also was quite lucky to meet fellow blogger Laveena, of fashion inquisitive which was such a pleasure.

Larger Indulgences

In one of my previous posts I talked about small indulgences, but sometimes I save my calories for larger indulgences!  Above is a pic of one of my favorite dishes in New York, Mac Attack at Cafeteria.  The mac attack has been mentioned before and believe me when I say I LOVE it.  It is a delicious dish served with three different types of macaroni and cheese’s.  This is my favorite mac and cheese dish in NY!  What do you save your calories for?  Do share, I love trying new dishes!

When women past 25, our metabolism slows down!  With me I just diet to keep the same weight, weight loss is pretty difficult for me!  I try to find small treats, that satisfy my cravings, but don’t go crazy with calories!  My recent daily indulgence is the Starbucks Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcake which is tiny, but packs a punch!
