Hey guys, first of all I wanted to wish all of my readers a HAPPY DIWALI! Whether you celebrate this holiday or not, my good wishes are with you guys! I can’t thank all of you for your support, you have become my family.
For me, this Diwali in New York, has definitely become the festival of lights. I am so thankful for my family and friends who were there for me and my family! I want to be there for those who were less fortunate as well. I hope I will be able to do that this year!
This year hopefully a lot will change, and you guys will be seeing and hearing of some exciting stuff on this blog. Thank you all for the love and keep reading and sharing!
This buttons and yolk on this dress designed by me is Monisha Jaising. I refurbished the yolk and buttons because the dress was ruined by washing (a mystery) . I love refurbishing old outfits! More bang for you buck!

I know there are numerous beauty sites that talk about getting clearer skin when battling acne but I am going to give it to you straight. I have battled acne for about over 12 years. I have never had the type of skin that was noticeably awful because makeup always covered it, so I was never too worried. I had times where my skin was clear but breakouts always came when I was least expecting it. To be honest with you it kept getting worse as I got older, and last winter was the height of it. My good friends knew how frustrated I was because of it. I was spending WAY too much money on cleansers without any results. I was trying to avoid the dermatologist out of fear for spending ALL that money, but to be honest I ended up going that expensive route, and it paid off. I am not going to write which dermatologist I used but if you guys want to know his/her name you can email me. I know there are many women out there who have this problem. My advice is stop spending money on expensive cleansers and run to a good dermatologist. The results are noticeably AMAZING and you end up spending a lot less on money on makeup.

While food was a big part of my trip there was another part to my trip which was less gluttonous. If you have ever read Elizabeth Gilbert’s EatPrayLove, you know how important meditation is in India. I wish I could be as eloquent as Elizabeth was with her journey, but the truth is I am not a writer. However I will share with you that before I left for my trip I was not in a good place mentally or spiritually in my life. One of the main reasons for me going was to find some peace in my life. Sometimes people look at you and think what do you have to complain about, but life is not simple as that.
Many people go to India sometimes just to meditate in many of the ashrams that India is home to. I am going to put a warning for anyone who wants to do this before I proceed. There are many frauds when it comes to guru’s and ashrams, and you have to be careful. My advice is not to go to an ashram or guru straightaway, but to go to temples and satsangs in a major city. Once you are comfortable enough in India, you can then proceed to a higher spiritual level and outside of the city.

With all the relaxing on the beaches of St. Tropez, drinking champagne in Cannes, and lounging in Nice, there was no real meditation during my trip. However I did appreciate the fact that I could enjoy my time in France with great friends, while knowing not everyone gets this luxury. It was not one of the craziest, or indulgent trips I have taken, but in times where you hear of natural disasters, recession hitting families, and the lack of basic health care to citizens I really feel grateful for my life. Sometimes you need to take the time out and be thankful for what you have.
