I know so many of you want to see Natasha Poonawala’s wedding pictures, and I am here to tell you I don’t have them. I have to be honest it would be great to see them to see what this fashion forward woman has worn (or who she wore). Since I don’t have them I thought I would share some pics of her for your fashion loving eyes!

Whether you like her fashion sense or not, you can not deny she takes chances!!! You also will rarely see her in high street brands, it is only high luxury brands for her. You can see this fashionista wearing brands like Gucci, Herve Leger, Lanvin, Manish Malhotra, etc… I would love to raid her closet!!!

A trend that I am loving in Denim is the frayed jeans that I am seeing popping up everywhere. I love this look! It has a very casual rock star feel about it!!! Some call this trend distressed or shredded. There are many who are able to do this themselves (I am not one of them).

4. Yogurt

5. Beer

Lesson Learned

Yes I have punjabi hips. Yes when skinny jeans came out I was pissed. Yes I do not look the same as Victoria Beckham, but if you know who Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez are, you know that hips are not necessarily a bad thing. I personally know that if you work at it, you can make your body look great (that is for another post). I also can tell you that you don’t have to wear a sarong to the beach if you don’t want to. (someone should tell Shobha De that if you can get botox, you can get LIPO). There is always a way to make yourself feel and look better.

With that being said I can also tell you that if you love food, you learn that if you want to look good you have to learn how to dress your body. These are lessons that are learned from having some bad fashion moments!

One lesson I learned was not to wear tops with elastics on your waists or hips. This tends to make you look more hippy than you are. Here are a couple of pictures to help you understand what I mean:

Remember I am not saying elastic waists are bad styles, just not meant for women who have hips!!

A Punk Lesson

This year’s Met Gala theme was Punk, and nobody hates punk fashion more than I do, however with the fashion fraternity I was hoping for creativity. I am sure if you have read the reviews and the pictures you have realized that most of the invitees IGNORED the theme. Here is how NOT to look PUNK:

To Keratin or Not?

There are always trends in hair care, and the most recent is Keratin straightening. I was a person who in the past had succumbed to a trend by doing Japanese hair straightening, and while short term it was great, long term I regret that I did it. I feel like most products I buy now is to reverse damage done to my hair. Heat and Chemical can really kill the health of hair, so when choosing to do such treatments one needs to think LONG TERM!

Before thinking of doing Keratin treatment at a salon which involves heat to set in the product, I would suggest go to your local drugstore and you will find lots of products with Keratin (it is a protein) such as shampoos, conditioners, leave in treatments.. etc.

I happen to follow designers and bloggers all over the world, it really is amazing how fashion seems to transcend borders! This week there was a fashion week in Pakistan and I decided to check it out online and critique it. I have to be honest this is the first time I have followed fashion week in Pakistan so I really don’t know anything about it in terms of history, or how the retail market works in Pakistan. While there were some designers who I had heard of, most of them were completely new to me.

I am going to start off with what I didn’t like: Prints over load, it seemed like a good amount of designers were obsessed with prints. There also seemed to be a lack of creativity in textures and cuts. Personally I felt that a majority of the designs could be copied by local tailors.

What I did like was that it seemed like all the designers were in sync with presenting demure cuts in bright colors. It seemed that they seemed to know the limitations associated with designing in a conservative country. While there were a few mini’s and midriffs presented, the reality is that they might not be able to walk around in their local shops like that. I really like that the designers were not competing with foreign designers, but at the same time the designs could be worn by an international cliental. I am not sure at what price point they are sold but if sold at reasonable prices they could do well in markets outside of Pakistan, and not just for a South Asian clientele.

I have told you guys that I went a bit overboard with shopping in Forest Essentials I am going to share with you a product that I am going nuts about!!

I don’t usually use lip balms, I like them on the stick format, but rose scents are so fabulous and they didn’t have a stick format so I had to buy this product.

Opening the product is fun in itself, the packaging I have to say is great.

Unfortunately the product is not large in quantity, in fact disappointing in that sense.
