I bought this shirt from the street vendors in Greater Kailash Market last year for about 300-550 rupees (about 8-10 US dollars)

What do you think, do you think I got a good deal? Insane right, that shirt was available in the streets of Delhi a year ago… I also think that Equipment did a silk version of this shirt.

Ok guys I did a post on Greater Kailash, and I mentioned how I loved street side shopping there. I wanted to do a post where I showed you guys what I bought and how I wore it. I picked the location to be Hauz Khas Village which is a must if you come to New Delhi! The dress was about 500 rupees (10 USD), and I had to have it once I saw the coral color and pleats!

This bag has mixed reviews in Delhi, some love some don't get!
Tuk Tuk's are called auto's or three wheelers in Delhi!

If I were to compare Hauz Khas to a place in New York it would be the village. I was probably too dressed up for Hauz Khas but it was fun. I also bumped into fashionista Kanika Kapoor (check out her video Jugni ji on youtube), and both agreed Hauz Khas is a fabulous place to be in Delhi!

Truth be told New Delhi is a completely different city then when I was a teenager. However one thing that has remained consistent is shopping in Greater Kailash Part 1 M block Market.
There was a time when GK Market was the most happening market (your going to have to take my word for it). While its chicness has definitely taken a toll, one thing hasn’t, the ability to store everything in one market. Which makes it a must on any Delhi Trip!
Literally you can find clothes, food, shoes, groceries , jewelry in this market, for people visiting I am going to list you MUSTS in this market:
1. VLCC: A hidden spa in the market where my hair is done by Faisal!
A haven in chaos!
2. Street Vendors: These guys sell everything, and I love to buy clothes/chappals from them! There are a whole bunch inside and outside the market so have fun!
3. L’affaire: The most classy saree shop in all of Delhi
4. Moti Mahal: I’ve written about this before
5. Momo’s: Absolutely the most Delicious dumplings you can have (in the street anyways)
These are just a few but my musts! There is a lot more to eat and shop in this market, but beware parking is quite a hassle, and the market is closed on Tuesdays…..I would suggest exploring!

I love food, which is why I love Delhi (amongst other reasons). If you think you are a foodie then I strongly suggest going to New Delhi. With globalization and the extreme development of Delhi, this city has become more traveler friendly than ever. There are still some issues, the main one being sanitary. One has to be careful what and where you eat at all times. I was there for two months so my stomach became immune to a lot of bacteria out there, but I started the trip with a major stomach infection. If you are there for a short amount of time, please be careful! With that being said here are some noteworthy places.
