On the earlier post you saw some places where I recommended to shop. This post has some tips for before you go. Before you even plan your trip look at magazines like Harpers Bazaar India, and Vogue India for ideas of what is in fashion. Don’t go without a list of what to shop for, and an idea of looks. This will make things go faster. I also recommend looking for some designers and shops on social media sites like Facebook and start following them. Try to go to India when exhibitions take place (I personally prefer exhibitions to boutiques). If you are going from the United States think about other places where fashion preferences might be closer to home such as London. London actually has many Indian designers, as well as UK based designers. Take a look at some images from the most recent Asiana bridal show of designer Ekta Solanki (Yes I am shamelessly promoting a family member that I am proud of!)
I know there is a lot I did not cover, but I am willing to take emails or tweets for specific questions such as jewelry, accessories, trousseau packing, etc.
